Sewing pattern for a very easy, very simple, very loose-fitting, unlined top. Sleeveless with fold back lapels, seamed only at the shoulders. Falls below the hip line at the center back with a semi-circular hem line that rises at the sides, reaching 3 to 5 inches below the waistline at the center front. May be worn open in the front or closed with the use of an accent pin. The edges are finished with binding made from either the same fabric or a contrasting fabric. Turn it into an unlined jacket by adding sleeves.
Make it from a light, medium, or heavy weight fabric, from a woven or knit fabric, from a sheer, burnout, or opaque fabric. Just make sure the fabric is wide enough and has plenty of drape!

Suitable fabrics for top & binding: Lightweight Double-sided knits, wool, silk, rayon, cotton, polyester, crepe, sheer, challis, fleece, jacquard, plaid, or stripes. Just make sure that the fabric has a lot of drape!
Suitable fabrics for binding: ready-made double-fold bias tape, bias strips cut from the same fabric, contrasting Knit fabric strips in Ponte or jersey knit cut along the cross grain.
Minimum fabric width requirements: 55″ for XS, 56″ for S, and 58″ for M-XL.
