Description
This fabric is beautiful posh looking linen. One side is neutral gray that Pantone calls plum kitten, and the other side is cream. It is not a true double weave. Orizuru means paper crane in Japanese. It is believed that paper cranes carry souls to heaven on their wings. This particular fabric has a wabi-sabi, an imperfection that adds to its’ unique character. There are few very faint vertical lines of lighter dye that run through the fabric. They are not very distinct, but they are visible to a discerning eye. We believe that they are subtle enough to be embraced. This fabric will make a sharp looking denim-style jacket, with multiple panels and top-stitching. We washed and machine dried a sample. It handled itself beautifully. This linen medium to heavy weight with voluminous drape. 100% Linen. 58” wide. (H/C)
Coordinate with Crane Song, Milan – Gray (the lighter side), Anita – Red, Peri.
There is only one cut left: 1 yd with stubby thread running through and a 15-inch long piece (sold together as 1.25 yds)
Pattern seggestion: Elbe Textiles Davis Crossbody Vest
Orizuru is sampled in Fall I 2021 catalog.
