Description
This fabulous fabric is unusual laminated silk jacquard in black. Thick silk yarns are coached into oversized basketweave-like pattern with very fine rayon threads. Jacquard pattern is about 1/4”. Slight laminate treatment is applied to the right side of the fabric. It highlights fabric texture and makes it look almost like leather. Fabric is medium-to-heavy weight, has soft hand, and moderate pliable drape. It is best suitable to jackets, softly structured dresses and skirts, and light coats. Silk/Rayon. 65″ wide. (H/D)

Sewing tips: This fabric is very loosely woven. We strongly recommend to block-fuse whole yardage with lightweight interfacing before cutting. Surging is sufficient for vertical, but is not sufficient for horizontal edges. Also, stress test of the fabric showed that thick weft yarns pulled apart under stress. Block fusing should solve this challenge.
