Ruffles!!

Postby Barb » Fri Feb 13, 2009 4:51 pm

Ruffles and flourishes are all over the street these days! We're seeing this feminine touch on everything from necklines to hemlines and in-between. Here are some patterns to look at if you want to add this trend to your spring wardrobe.

Vogue Blouse

Vogue Cocktail Dress

Burda Blouse

For fabrics you'll want to choose soft and drapey.
Silk Charmeuse
Solids
Dots

Crepe de Chine

Semi-sheers such as:
Acai
Litza
Edelweiss
Joya de Ceren

Is anyone incorporating this trend in their spring sewomg? Tell us how!

Thanks for the links Barb. The Burda blouse really appeals to me - feminine without be "overly-ruffley". I see that blouse in your Joya de Ceren....lovely! I'm going to introduce ruffles into my wardrobe this spring for sure.

I put ruffles around the neck edge of a rayon jersey knit cardigan this spring.

I learned a lot during that construction and want to do something similar on a knit top made from pomegranate froth later this summer (after the epic trench is finished!).
