Sew inFashion: Sweater Knits

Postby Barb » Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:17 pm

Sweaters are everywhere! And the fun part it is that many are lightweight and airy, used for layering more than warmth. See more about this trend at Sew inFashion
We have another knitwhich is much lighter weight but would work really well as a layering cardigan. This is a wool blend semi sheer.

For a more traditional sweater look, we have a wonderful wool stripe from Ralph Lauren and a camel wool/mohair imported from Italy. Lots to play with for this trend. [/url]

Anybody sewing sweaters rather than knitting them this season?

Sweater Dressing

Postby Colleen » Tue Oct 23, 2007 1:04 pm

Remember in the '70's when you had to have at least one long belted cardigan and or a crocheted vest? I know I had my senior picture taken wearing a belted cardigan... well they are back in style and way more fun (but so are we-right???)
I have been seeing sweater dresses worn with boots- so easy to pull together and look great--even when you are running late! Long midi length cardi' jackets are a familiar site as well, again worn with boots and slacks or a simple skirt. Also, thin but oversized lacey sweaters are orbiting around this season too.
Between the rayon knit tops and the sweater looks, it seems everyone's sergers will be kept humming for quite awhile...and no knitting skills required! (unless you want to):)
