The Savvy Sewer Salon at Sawyer Brook

Just finished reading an interesting indepth interview with Stefano Pilati, the creative director for Yves Saint Laurent. His path is interesting, if not troubled, but what I loved most of all is his focus on fabrication. He was taught early in his career about fabric and focuses his designs on what the fabric has to offer. This subject is dear to my heart because without fine fabric even a genius design is sorely lacking. I like to believe that what we do day in and day out when we source our fabrics and bring them to market is to contribute to the inspiration that leads to many beautiful garments.
