I bought some of that gorgeous Parisien linen blend from SB a few years ago and am making a dress. It has an off-white background with blue and white embroidered flowers and green stems. Unfortunately, I've run short and wonder if anyone out there who has this fabric and hasn't used it and/or won't use it would be willing to sell it to me. Please e-mail me if you are willing to sell.

Denise -

So, I guess the swatches we sent as possible compliments didn't work out? I hope you can locate someone with this fabric left over! I loved it when we had it, and thought about using the other color we had at the time - it was on a natural wheat-colored ground. Your dress sounded lovely!

Yes, the swatches worked fine, and I'm going to pick up some of the linen/rayon "Creamery" blend at the Expo next Friday. Those are for the godets, though. I found myself a little short on fabric for the main dress and hoped someone would have this fabric. Otherwise, I'll have to take the dress up an inch to fit it all on what I have.

Oh, I remember that fabric! Just beautiful! I was unable to buy it when it was available, so I can't help, but I sure hope you can find enough for your needs.

Another poster had the fabric in her stash - just a yard and she sold it to me. I am very happy to report I had enough for the godets. When the dress is finished, as it should be this week, I'll post a picture.

the dress is about halfway done. I've been really busy the past two weeks so only had a limited amount of time to work on it. But I promise I'll post a picture.

Thanks for the reply, hon. I sure know what you mean about getting part way done with something and then having "life" interfere! Wink

I just remember that wonderful fabric and still feel sad that I was unable to purchase it at the time - so I guess I want the vicarious satisfaction of seeing what someone else has been able to do with it.

The swatches I received the other day from SB are the same thing - just piece after piece of gorgeous stuff I would love to have, but no money for it now. I think they need to consider something like installment buying....

Yes, getting swatches makes me want to go back to work. But then I think I won't have time to sew, so forget that.

I finished the dress and wore it last night for my 25th anniversary. I'll post a picture as soon as I can figure out how. I'll certainly post a review on PR today so if anyone is interested in seeing the finished product it's going to be on the boards. It came out really cute and was so much fun to wear with godets and a bias binding neckline.

One glitch is that I put in the invisible zip according to directions and it came up short. So now I have to close up a little bit of neckline. I tried frogs but they are too thick so I'm going to get some small buttons and elastic and have some sort of inside closure. I tried hooks and eyes but they don't hold. But the dress is wonderful and fits great.
