My mom and I were recently in a fabric store looking for a pattern for the next sew4u project. We went through our routine for trying to find an appropriately sized pattern: First, we look through all the pattern books' youth sections, and find about six pages of similar patterns in each, none of which are appropriate. We then look through all the sleepwear pattern sections (our next sew4u idea) and find frumpy patterns that come in large sizes. Then, slightly frustrated, we dig through all the displays. Our efforts are fruitless, so we settle for a semi- satisfactory pattern that is not quite what we had in mind.

This is a common pattern (pun completely intended) I have noticed when we set out to find a new pattern for a project.

Has anyone else experienced these problems? Speak up! What patterns have worked well for you with Sawyer Brook fabrics?

My mom and I were talking about this pattern dilemma, and she suddenly remembered a pattern she had bought a while ago. She dug it out of a drawer, and went on the website, www.jalie.com. Under Emilie's favorites, there are several wonderful looking patterns!! I think the polo shirt and tank top would be really fun to make, with one of the many knits at SB. I wonder which one?

Zigzgger - I have made several Jalie tops. I like their patterns a lot. I made the #2682 Women's tops - the view that's sleeveless and has a V-neck. It also has an empire waist seam.

The other one I made was Choice of T-shirts. That is a great pattern. It's not over-sized. It fits the female form beautifully.

Here's the review I did of that pattern, including photos

My mom and I just ordered 8 Jalie patterns, and we are anxiously waiting for them. I think we got the choice of t-shirt one, I'm glad we did! And the picture with your review was lovely.

Thanks for sharing!

Our patterns came in the mail just a few days ago! I'm very excited to sew them; there's a cute racerback tanktop I think I'll start with. Has anyone else made jalie patterns?

Are you looking for youthful patterns for adults or youth patterns? I sew for my granddaughters ages 9years to 3 years. They are growing tall so I do have to alter length by I am able to use patterns sized 4 thru 8. The hardest for me is finding quality fabric for children that does not have to be dry cleaned. Hand washing ok.
