Added July 6, 2007
Please review About Sew Alongs for guidelines to beginning this project.
The By Popular Demand Jacket is one I've had in my pattern drawer for about a year. I bought in at the sewing expo in Worcester after visiting The Cutting Line Designs booth and meeting Louise Cutting. I fell in love with many of the garments she had made up. Her sewing is precise and truly lovely.
She had the By Popular Demand Jacket made up in a couple of different lengths and fabrics. I liked the lines of the jacket and thought it would fit my life, as a suburban mom.
This past April at the sewing expo, the Sawyer Brook booth was located diagonally across from The Cutting Line Designs booth. I had ample opportunity to admire Ms. Cuttings' jackets as she walked around helping customers. I knew I had to find the pattern and get serious.
I thought it would be fun to do this as a Sew Along project and get feedback from other people about what kind of fabric they are using, fitting problems, etc. We'd love to have you join in. We'll 'officially' start at the beginning of July. There's no pressure to finish anything by any particular date. I'll probably make mine in a summery fabric, since we have so many wonderful ones in stock right now, and plan on wearing it through Sept.
The By Popular Demand pattern can be ordered from Cutting Line Designs at www.fabriccollections.com, or by calling toll free 877-734-5818.
