OK, I'm in! With all sorts of caveats!! i.e. I'm not commiting to getting it done, but I'll do my best to stay with the crowd.

I finally decided that I wanted to use Rusty Nail Linen. It's a mid-weight linen, but it is very soft. I have started washing it today to soften it even further. The color is so rich, almost a claret in some ways, but definitely in the "rusty" family. My color palette flows from summer to autumn so its perfect with all my neutrals whether they are cool or warm.

I cracked the pattern open today. Traced off what I think will be the best combination of sizes for me and I'm ready to do a quick muslin. Some years ago, I made several Florence jackets (Textile Studio Patterns) and I pulled those out to see what adjustments I made. I had added a dart so I may do that on the Capri as well. I'm concerned without it, the jacket will wrinkle at the bust line. I may do a slit and spread alteration instead because I don't think I need a lot of room, just a bit. I'll post when I've made my decision.

Who else is in? Have you chosen your fabric yet?

OK - I'm IN too. My pattern just arrived as well as my fabric. I've chosen to use Pueblo which is very drapey. Barb - I love your fabric choice as well. It looks like a wonderful fabric for this pattern.

I've had some out of town guests who are now leaving, so I can turn to the project and concentrate on fitting and a muslin. I do not have a full bust but might opt for a dart as Barb mentioned. I will decide after looking at the muslin. I don't want drag lines. I might also add some interest in the center back. Recently I purchased a RTW linen jacket which had some interesting back gathers and a tie at the waistline. I am considering that type of detail. My figure is curvey from waist to knee so I tend not to look great in a straight silhouette. My thought is to add some shaping and interest to this basic pattern shape. My other thought is about the buttonholes. I might opt from something different like using tabs. Not sure about that yet.
What are others thinking of doing? Any changes to the pattern?

O.K. This sounds like too much fun to miss. I love hearing about all the details and personal touches each participant is doing. Count me in. I think a white jacket for summer will be just the ticket. I'll have to shop for fabric in the next few days. I also need to trace the pattern off in my size/sizes. I might be a late starter, but I'm confident I will catch up.

Reading all the wonderful and creative ideas is really exciting; however, catract surgery has delayed me from any sewing for the last two weeks. Now we are preparing for our son's wedding next week here in our garden--sooooooo, it will be a couple of weeks before I can trace my pattern and get started. I will get several pieces of fabric ordered from Sawyer Brook today and will make the decision on which beautiful fabric to use after all the fabric arrives. These are my favorites for fabric but not sure if I will order everyone of them: Tangelo, La Jolla (black), Shannon, Penny Candy, Brick Road (purple), Hobo Duo (Pool), and Rambouillet (celadon/cloud blue). Choices--choices!

Until then, all of you keep the great ideas flowing because it is certainly inspiring me to sneak in some time for sewing.

Last week Carole brought in her Capri jacket made with the Luxor fabric from the Back Room. (Sorry, that fabric is now out of stock.) I tried it on and it fit beautifully! I now know I will trace off the medium size without having to do a muslin. Thanks Carole.
I've decided to use the DeSoto fabric from Sawyer Brook which is a blend of poly and rayon. I'm not a big fan of synthetics, but I thought the easy care and color (black/gray tweed) would be great for me to combine with a black, gray, white or red top for now and the fall season.
