Nata,
The shirt is darling! Would you mind sharing the pattern you used? I want to see if I can make one in my size (maybe minus the lettuce hem)!
(This is Rachel, by the way-- Carole's daughter)

Rachel,
The shirt is from last issue of Ottobre magazine. I am not sure if you heard of these patterns; they are not widely sold in here. It's finish kids fashion magazine with patterns, like Burda WOF. You can subscribe to it on their website: http://www.ottobredesign.com/. I also heard that some Jo-Anns store sell it, but I haven't seen it in our area.
Anyway, The shirt is really simple, you don't need a pattern for it. You can use TNT T-shirt pattern. Then measure about 3" down from the shoulder point on the sleeve cap. Draw a nice half circle scoop-out curve into the sleeve cap through this point . Then just cut-out along the curve.
You can, also, cut sleeves as usual, baste one of the sleeve into the armcye, and then ask mom to mark the scoop-out part while you are wearing it.
Bind the sleeve scoop-out part before setting in sleeves. I am very impressed with you skills. I think it'll be a piece of candy for you.

Denise -
I love the dress! It really came out well - I'd love to see a photo of you wearing it, but I know how hard those are to come by (I'm never crazy about photos of me! But it's great to see the final product after talking with you about this fabric!

| Thanks. I wore it for my 25th wedding anniversary dinner and got lots of compliments. It was very cool and comfortable. The China silk lining felt great and I got so many raves about the fabric.

Love your garments Toy! Very pretty, love the skirts and you did a great job on the zipper. I just finished the knit top Vogue 2980 too. As soon as I get my camera back from the repair shop I'll post a picture. I used a SB knit from 2007 called Egg-actly. I made the 3/4 length sleeve version. I found I had to take in the top area so next time I'll go down a size when I cut. Although I've heard the fit is really dependent on the knit used. The stretch can be so different piece to piece. This top is super easy to sew. Don't you agree?
Thanks for sharing your photos.

Hi Toy,
Your pictures are wonderful - thank you for sharing. When I'm cutting and folding the fabric for customers I always try to imagine what they will make. It's fun to see the reality. You have done a great job sewing and modeling.
You have also inspired me to make a plan for sewing this summer. This spring I was busy with home projects and volunteer sewing projects so I'm behind on garment sewing. Your photos and blog were inspirational and I'll be back on track soon.

Hey Lois and Carole
thanks for you comments
believe me I am not a planner, this is the first time I am attempting to do a wardrobe type plan and its only because I have a huge wish list and fabric to make there things I want to wear this summer.
with vacations, work and family it will get very, very hectic so I decided to get myself organized,, somewhat, lol
I'm happy my photos inspired you, I was having problems with the quality of the photos itself with typepad but oh well!
