| I think the Savaii handles would look great on a simple purse of the Gypsy fabric!

Hi zigzagger! Oooh - this IS a good color match! The mood of the handle is great for the fabric, too. The fabric is so beautiful - so many colors and the pattern is so hip. Only problem is, the fabric is silk charmeuse, which is a very lightweight, slippery, delicate fabric. It would make a really drapey handbag, and it wouldn't hold up to any sort of wear and tear. I've found that heavier, more stable fabrics work better for handbags. Most of our fabrics meant for jackets, pants or skirts would work well for bags. Denim, twill, tweeds, and other heavier fabrications are appropriate. And interfacing is important, too, to stiffen the bag so it doesn't sag with the weight of what you put inside it.
The Gypsy silk could be used to line a special occasion bag, though. Maybe a little drawstring pouch style? I haven't matched the Gypsy to any of our solids, but I think it would look cute lining a hot pink, blue, green, or yellow bag.
If you're thinking of making a handbag, have fun choosing the fabric, handles, and pattern. And enjoy making it!

| You're right- the fabric is too thin- I saw it when I was there the other day. I think it would be wonderful as lining, as you suggested, but I think it could also trim the outside of the bag in one of the colors you suggested!
