We have some wonderful double face linens in stock right now. Any ideas for interesting use of this fabric? How about reversible?

I've never used Double Faced Linen but I pulled out Sandy Betzina's Fabric Savvy where she wrote about Double Cloth (wool not linen) and has an interesting seam technique to butt the seams (reduces bulk). Aside from that, picking a pattern where the inside shows would utilize both sides of your fabric. Try looking at Adri patterns (in Vogue). Usually the Adri styles eliminate facings and the inside of the garments fold out to form collars and lapels.

The Adri patterns were exactly what I had in mind for "wrong side shows". I made some of her patterns a few years ago with rayon print that was well saturated so the wrong side was pleasing. But it would be fun to try with a double cloth.
A lot of our customers have talked about reversible garments in the past, but I've never made one. Frankly, I'd rather have two garments than one reversible, but I bet it would be great for travel convenience.

I have a Burda pattern # 3064, view B that calls for two different fabrics. The front, back and upper sleeve are from one fabric, the side panel and under sleeve are from another.

I saw the doublface linen online the other day. Is it dress-weight, or heavier? Thanks. (And I have an Adri pattern from a few years back - it has lots of company! - that might work for this if the fabric is lightweight.)

Each face of the double face is a light weight linen...the combined fabrication would be a mid-weight. The interesting feature of this fabric is the soft hand. It is not as crisp as you would expect a mid-weight to be. We can always send you a swatch if you are interested.
