As I read and listened to commentary on the passing of Yves Saint-Laurent, I was curious as to how many of us owe some of our personal style to his innovations? Certainly, if you love to wear pants to work then you owe your comfort and style to him. But there are other silhouettes and stylistic introductions that he brought to the fashion world that have lived on. to read more about this icon: NY Times
I wandered through the comments on this article and found this of interest to kindred sewers and also this remembrance.
Does anyone have a favorite pattern of his design? Has anyone used his garments as inspiration for a design of their own?

| I found it very sad to hear of YSL's passing. Very sad to have such an Icon to leave us. For me, the Safari look and pants suits have a lingering impact on my wardrobe. Remember the days before pantsuits? Wow - many things have changed. Thank you for pointing out the article.
