I have these jacket and dress patterns for quite some times. Recently I need to make an outfit to go to a summer wedding. So I am thinking maybe I use those simple patterns to make an elegant outfit with some twist.
So after I made the jacket, I attached a long necklace with some fake pearls to the neck line and to the hem of the jacket sleeves. I got two long costume necklaces at Macy’s when they were on sales half-price. Plus using my 20% coupon, I got these two necklaces for just $20. I hand sewed them to my jacket.
I am quite happy with the outcome. The gold chains with some pearls really turned my simple outfit into something nice for me to wear to my niece wedding.
There are several SB fabrics that will be great with this style: Trinidad Tweed, Pendleton Pearl Melba, Pendleton Pineapple, or Sweetwater Tweed

| Great pictures! I like that you sewed the necklace to the jacket- it adds some nice texture. This technique might also work well around the waist of a dress instead of a sash.

Hi Zigzagger,
Great idea! I will do that the next time when I make myself a dress.
Thanks for your suggestion.
