The darling of the "just gotta create" fashionistas has taken off with his persona of style as his product. To get us started here's my quick review of his book A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style.
Tim Gunn's A Guide to.... was a pleasant read. Those familiar with him from Project Runway will already know that the book is full of literary and historical references to whet the appetite of any reader and the vocabulary is erudite, if not stilted. The information is nothing new, but I did enjoy hearing his simple take on fashion...it's so sensible. So in a way, this pedantic read is quite elemental.
One distraction for me as I read the book was the use of his assistant dean as a vehicle to a plural voice. It seemed a cop out to me. Why not just write it on his own? Or if he needed her input, make it clear what she was contributing and what were his own thoughts. Anybody else have that experience?
Although I'm not much for reality shows, I have watched the first installment of Tim's new program on Bravo. I have the second on tape but have not viewed it yet. Anyone else seen it?

| I've been watching the new Tim Gunn Show. It took me some time to warm up to the format but now I like it. I enjoy his input and instruction....and finally his sense of humor and warm connection with people is beginning to shine through. I am looking forward to watching the season and learning about basics to add to my wardrobe.

Hi Kip - Yes it is on Bravo. I'm not sure of the schedule; you could check on their website.

| I love Tim Gunn's Guide to Style! The only problem with it is that there hasn't been a new one in a long time. Has he stopped taping them? Does anyone know when a new one will start up again?
