What's everyone planning for fall sewing?
We know we're selling a lot of fabric which means there are a lot of visionaries out there! We also know many of us can't always get to the garments we envision in a timely fashion (pun intended). But why not share with each other what we "see"?
One of the fun parts of working in our cutting room is the chat about what each customer is doing with the fabric we are cutting for her. Sometimes we know because of conversations we've had with the customer. Sometimes there are hints because the customer has included the pattern she is using. But many times we are guessing (envisioning) how this carefully chosen fabric will transform into a garment for someone's wardrobe this season (or next LOL)
So join the fun and share your vision. We promise we won't hassle you for a completed garment!

| I recently purchased HOT FUDGE, a gorgeous shade of brown in a rayon.apandex knit. I am planning to make a top, adapting Vogue #8323. I wear a lot of brown from bathing suit and cover-up to fall pantsuits to wool pants and skirts. I think that brown looks great paired with many different colors such as pink, rose, blues, aquas. I use brown as my basic instead of the black that so many women favor. Black makes me feel "washed-out" whereas I seem to look my best in a warm shade of brown and feel good when I wear it. I'd like to hear from other members about their favorite fall colors.

| BrendaJo - I love the color Teal with Chocolate Brown. That is one combo I'm seeing in the stores and I plan to make this Fall. I also love the neutral combo of Cream and Brown. It's a soothing yet sophisticated look. I find it appealing and versatile to wear. Adding a multi-colored wood necklace or other accessories dresses it down, but it's still a very interesting look. I feel good in that combo.

| I recently purchased navy and black fabrics, Cavalry Twill (wool) and Wrought Iron (cotton), for making basic skirts. I’m in the mood for pockets and want to return to pleated garments instead of darts for a change. I have some boiled wool that I acquired a few months ago (on sale!) for a simple short coat which I cut a muslin for last week. After that, I want to make some tops. Hopefully there will still be a selection of the gorgeous silks to choose from when the time comes. Decisions, decisions.
