Gore-geous Linen

Gore-geous Linen

I’m ba-a-ack!  And with lots to talk about!  There’s so much going on here at the warehouse that it’s hard to get organized enough to share it all with you!

As far as linen goes, we appreciate all your comments, both posted and private, and want to update you on what we expect to stock this season.

We will stock some basic 100% linen in a variety of fashion colors.  These are light to mid-weight and will be great for skirts, pants, dresses and blouses.  We expect them in stock within a week.

Speaking of linen skirts, there’s a great looking skirt in the newest Talbot’s catalog.  It’s flared 16-gore with a narrow waistband.  Why not take a flared 4-gore skirt pattern and divide each gore into 4 pieces to come up with a similar pattern?  This sounds like fun to me…maybe I’ll put it on my to-do list for spring sewing. Hm-m-m  now what color to choose!

In addition to the 100% linen, we have options in linen/stretch and linen/rayon blend and a few linen cotton.

Next update will feature some of the linen novelties that are coming in very soon!

    I love linen! Thanks.
Butterick 3134 is an old pattern, but is so basic, and has 4, 6 and 8 gore views. It would be really easy to take the 8 gore and just split each in half to achieve that 16 gore look.

Re. 16 gore skirt — check out Kwik Sew #3195; one of the views has 16 gores.
