The world lost a fashion icon yesterday when Liz Claiborne died at the age of 78. Whatever you thought of her sporty careerwear styling, it is undeniable that she changed the way women dressed in the workplace and the way retailers marketed to women. In the heyday of the Liz Claiborne brand, the secondary market was filled with prints from their cutting rooms. The prints were cheery and colorful, but not ditzy.
